We are in Kiev!

We got here on Saturday at 11:40 a.m. The flight from Paris was very good and short, a little over two hours. We went through Immigrations and Customs with no problem, all our luggage arrived, and when we thought nothing could go wrong... we found ourselves at the Borispol Airport with nobody to pick us up! A friend of our facilitator was supposed to be there, but she was running late and at the time we did't know, so it was kind of scary to find yourself alone without speaking the language. We had her called over the loudspeaker, but nothing. We found a phone booth and tried to call our facilitator, but the phones required a card which we obviously didn't have. Fortunately, a taxi driver came to help us, hoping we would hire his services, and passed his calling card through the slot so we could make the call. In the end we just payed him $3 for this and were able to find out that our translator was parking her car and we should wait for her at the Information booth. Shortly after she arrived and everything was OK. After apologizing and explaining that she had been trying to get a parking space for 20 minutes, she took us to our apartment. The building was really old, but the apartment was completely refurbished and really nice. I am including some pictures so that you can see for yourselves and know what you can get in Kiev... Plus the heat works great, which is a must in this weather!

At the entrance there is a closet with mirror doors and a small dining room

Then you go on to the living room which has two really comfortable leather couches and a very modern TV set.

Here is the TV and the kitchen which is small but has everything we need, including a microwave, big refrigerator and washing machine.

The bedroom has a little balcony

and we even have a jacuzzi!

So, as you can see, we can't complain...

Here are a couple of pictures of the view from our bedroom so that you can see the building and the snow covered street.
